The ERG is the University of Chicago’s student-run environmental policy think tank, devoted to connecting policy, economic, and data analysis to understand problems facing the city of Chicago. We aim to create sustainable change in Chicago through qualitative and data-driven modeling.

This year’s research

This year, we are partnering with Atutu, a non-profit dedicated to bringing solar energy to “last-mile communities.” These communities are the last to electrify because of various types of marginalization like geographic isolation or racial inequity. We are also working with various Chicago Alderpeople to provide economic research to support their environmental policy goals.
